Countdown - UPDATED

Today is the day! Time to ask our elected officials to explain themselves.
  • Why did the village appoint a chief of police with a questionable record?
  • Why are village vehicles used as school buses?
  • How did Lawrence C. Powell end up as our Village President?
  • How did the former Village President Thomas Heller end up as our fire chief?
  • Why does the village manager not return calls to our residents?
  • Why does the village manager ignore FOIA requests?
  • Why does the phone number on the village website ring the cops?
  • Who is Barb Trainor and why is her email plastered all over the county website?
  • What happened to the public works director they hired?
  • Why did the cop department hire all these cops without a background investigation?
  • Why do we have two police chiefs for a department of 8?
  • Why did the cops cover-up a DUI arrest for a Cicero cop's family member?
  • Why was nothing done about the racial profiling towards Hispanics?
  • Why was nothing done about the racial discrimination of a black cop?
  • Why is the deputy chief allowed to steal from the village and get paid overtime?
  • Why is the deputy chief still employed with the village after all the lies?
It all starts at the top: Thomas Heller Lawrence C. Powell and company.

There may be, what we call in the trade,an "Undercover Operative " in the audience. I know that there will positively be at least one person from the press there.

"Why does the village manager ignore FOIA requests?"
Appeal to the Illinois Attorney General. They have jurisdiction over FOIA matters.

How did Heller become forest view Fire Chief? ANSWER: Tom heller ran for mayor unopposed. He then saw he had an opportunity to push the old fire chief out and give himself that job. What would need to be done. Well first you talk to your best friend neighbor who always wanted to be mayor but never was elected. Than you insert Tug boat Tommy who always wanted to be a fire chief but never was one. A couple of laughs and slaps on the back and The plan was in motion. Tommy would step down as mayor, appoint his best friend as his replacement and than a few weeks later ( couldn’t do it right away that may look to obvious to the residents) the new mayor would make him the fire chief at a very healthy salary for a job he isn’t right for or qualified to hold.

And that is how you end up with a new fire chief, which in return results in one member of the department being happy..... tugboat himself. The rest of the department is miserable. They don’t want him here and have completely no respect for him. The best thing he does for the department is leaves to go home at the end of the day. Usually around 6pm because he doesn’t start until 10-1030 ( banker hours ).

He is clueless and has no idea about anything. The members knew they were in trouble when guys that worked with him at Stickney couldn’t wait for him to leave to come to forest view. Or when you are at the hospital doing a report or at a drill and firefighters from neighboring departments tell you how sorry they are that he is our chief.

We just all hope he realizes he is not wanted, nor respected and retires or stays in his office. I mean we are all tired of the embarrassment he brings to the department, but more importantly we don’t want him to hurt someone by f**king something up on a call because he thinks he has a clue...... because he doesn’t know anything about being a Chief!!!’

Appeals cant be made anonymous and since we still work here we don't want to get fired for trying to show everyone the truth.

“Steal from the village” The media needs to get a whiff of that, and they will be all over it.

We thought he was the fire chief in Cicero, the way he talks. How come he left there?
