The Big Swap 2.0

With the April election just a few months away, the fire chief Tom Heller is set to lose his job if a new village president is elected.  This could be why Heller is collecting signatures to run for office once again. But why would Heller want to run for village president again?  Maybe so history can repeat itself.  The last time Heller was voted in as village president, he pushed the fire chief out, stepped down and had Powell give him a job as a well paid fire chief. That was the original Forest View "Big Swap".  In order for Heller's new plan to work, the board would need to appoint an interim village president favorable to Heller when he steps down a second time.  Who will it be this time?  Who will Heller appoint as police chief? Will he keep the current chief or appoint Sticky Fingers Salvador Rodriguez?  Yes, Sgt Sticky Fingers was allowed to keep his job after stealing from the village.  Rodriguez and Heller have been seen eating lunch together which puts Rodriguez on the list of Heller cronies.

Why would we want more of the same garbage?

This is better than a prime time comedy. Let’s take a look back. Tom Heller forced out Larry Moran so there would be an open Fire Chief spot. He than conveniently steps down as Village President ( a position he only was elected to because he ran unopposed) and made his friend and neighbor the new president. A few months later Tom Heller is made Fire Chief by Larry Powell without any other candidates being interviewed, or considered, or the position even being posted. In that time Tom Heller has done nothing except kill the morale of the men and hurt the department. He is completely incompetent and unqualified for the position .

Now a new election approaches and Tom Heller is screwed because his friend Powell is not running for re election. Not to mention Ms. Miller is running for President and supposedly realizes what a train wreck he is in the Fire Chief position and will obviously do what is right for the town, residents and the fire department members and replace Heller as Fire Chief.

What is Heller going to do? Start looking for a new chief job???? That’s comical. In his 40 years in the fire service he brags about he had never been able to obtain a position more than Part Time firefighter in stickney. His time playing Fire Chief is over!!!

So the obvious thing for Heller to do, and by obviously I think we all agree dumbest plan in the world is to run for town president again. Why would he do this? Well one can only think he believes he can be elected and than save his job as Fire Chief. Or maybe he will win election with hopes of stepping down immediately and appointing another friend that will retain him as Fire Chief.

All I know is if he is elected town president ( highly unlikely) and works out a deal to stay Fire Chief, NBC news investigates needs to be contacted!!!!

People need not to worry about heller being elected town president.

1) he only won last time because he ran unopposed

2) after all of his shady back door deals to become Fire Chief I doubt anyone will ever trust him to be in charge of anything ever again

3) Nancy Miller is a smart and dedicated trustee that actually cares about us the residents. She will surely replace him as soon as she is elected and get our Village running in the right direction

Here’s the best!!! I just heard from a reliable source that the Members of the Forest view fire department association has been discussing reaching out and supporting Nancy Miller by giving her their endorsement. What will that scream to the residents???

They work with Heller everyday, the fact that they don’t trust him to be Fire Chief or mayor shows he useless.

The best part is that he belongs to the association that won’t endorse him but will endorse his opponent. LOL it dosen’t get better than that!!!!

Here is an example of the leadership in the eyes of Tom Heller. Tom was informed on Christmas there is only 1 person on duty at the Forest view fire department do to some call offs. Tom Heller was informed about the situation yesterday and numerous attempts have been made this morning ( Christmas Day ) to contact Tom Heller on his Village issued cell phone of the situation that only one member is at the firehouse. That means currently there is no ambulance that can respond to help our residents or fire engine to protect the village . What was Tom Hellers leadership decision, well nothing. Tom Heller has chosen not to answer his phone or respond to numerous attempts by several people to come in and help cover the town he is supposed to be protecting.

And this is someone who believes the residents want him to lead a town as Village President????

I guess his 40 years of experience that he likes to brag about has taught him when things get tough let’s just ignore the situation and do what you want.

Why would heller embarrass himself like that, and even think to run for village president lol... apparently he hasn’t learned!
